King Charles issued statement to congratulate England for winning Euro 2025

King Charles has shared a passionate statement of congratulations for the England women’s team, on the occasion of their historic victory at the Euro 2025 final in Switzerland.
While Prince William and Princess Charlotte took in the game and the subsequent celebrations in person, his majesty counted his support via the message shared to Instagram.
“Congratulations to our valiant @Lionesses!” the royal family’s official social media account captioned the King’s statement.
While Charles’ message began, “This brings you, your manager and all your support team my most heartfelt congratulations on winning the EUROS 2025.”
Taking a subtle swipe at England’s longtime woes on the international stage, the statement added, “For more years than I care to remember, England fans have sung that famous chant ‘football’s coming home’”.
He further expressed “great pride” for the team which has eventually “made those words ring true”.
The reigning monarch also wrote on behalf of the entire royal family, sharing, “For this, you have my whole family’s warmest appreciation and admiration.”
Furthermore, the conclusion of King Charles’ message to the Lionesses included a supportive nod for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, which he requested the team to bring home “if you possibly can!”.
To note, England defeated Spain 3-1 on penalties to secure a consecutive Euro title on Sunday, July 27.
