Prince and Princess of Wales share Cornwall photo for Charlotte's birthday
Matt Porteous captures Princess Charlotte smiling in a field of daisies in Cornwall
The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a new photograph of Princess Charlotte to mark her eleventh birthday today, Saturday.
The image, captured by renowned photographer Matt Porteous, depicts the young royal smiling as she strolls through a field of daisies in Cornwall.
In the portrait, the Princess is seen wearing a practical black and red striped jumper paired with blue denim jeans, reflecting the relaxed atmosphere of the family’s recent Easter break.
The official social media accounts for the Waleses shared the image with the simple message: "Wishing Charlotte a very happy 11th birthday!"
Born at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, on 2 May 2015, Princess Charlotte is the only daughter of William and Catherine.
She currently attends Lambrook School alongside her brothers, Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, who recently turned eight.
As her birthday falls on a weekend this year, the Princess will not be required to attend classes. Known for her "feisty" personality and love of ballet and tap dancing, Charlotte has often been described by her mother as "the one in charge" within the sibling dynamic.
This latest release follows a busy week for the family, who also celebrated the 15th wedding anniversary of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Earlier this week, a separate portrait by Mr Porteous was released showing the couple and their three children relaxing barefoot on the grass with their pet spaniels, Orla and her puppy.
Princess Charlotte’s last public appearance was at the Easter Matins Service at St George’s Chapel, where she was observed waving to well-wishers and holding hands with her mother.
