In a shocking turn of events, the Jonas Brothers sent fans into a major frenzy during their as they kicked off their 20th anniversary tour with a surprise performance with Demi Lovato.
On Sunday, August 10, fans were taken down the memory lane when former lovebirds Joe and Demi hit the stage together in New Jersey for a rocking 'Camp Rock' performance.
Channeling Shane Gray, his character from the iconic Disney film, the 35-year-old singer wholeheartedly performed Gotta Find You.
Moments later, he called the 32-year-old singer, who played Mitchie Torres opposite him in the fan favourite movie, to sing alongside him.
The duo set the stage ablaze with an energetic performance of the hit tracks from Camp Rock like Wouldn’t Change a Thing, and This is Me, embodying the word 'confident'.
The Cool For the Summer hitmaker also took to her Instagram, and shared a few glimpses of the night, sparking major fan reaction.
"My inner child is healed, I love seeing you this happy Demi," one fan commented.
Another excitedly penned, "You guys made history last night. THANK YOU FOR THAT."
"I can’t get over this," a third user wrote.
For the unversed, Joe and Demi once had a romantic past.
Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato’s paths first crossed paths early in their careers, when the two teamed up in 2008 and shared a screen in Disney Channel’s Original Movie Camp Rock.
While they played love interests in the film, their real life romance wouldn’t blossom until two years later, filming for the sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
But their off-screen romance fizzled out quite quickly, as the two split just months after starting their romance.
In 2008

The Jonas Brothers, which consists of Joe, Nick and Kevin starred in the Disney Movie Camp Rock as Shane, Nate and Jason.
Meanwhile, Demi starred as Mitchie Torres who plays the love interest for Joe’s character.
In 2010

In 2010, the iconic duo returned to the set, bringing their characters back to life for the sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. During the same year, Joe and Demi sparked a real life romance.
Their relationship was short-lived as they had called it quits just a few months later.
During his chat with Us Weekly in 2010, the DNCE frontman reflected on his break-up with the Confident hitmaker, explaining that they knew that their relationship wasn’t going to be smooth sailing.
"I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up, but I love her as a friend. She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her," he added.
However, despite calling it quits the two seemed to not have developed any bad blood and stayed amicable, crossing paths on several occasions since.

Just a year after their romantic relationship came to an end, the duo had crossed paths again at the VMAs and also posed for a photo together.
In 2013
When Demi went public about her struggles with substance abuse, Joe came forward admitting that he did his best to stand by her to support her during a tough time.
Speaking to Vulture, the Cake By the Ocean singer shared, "I really got to know her and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with."
"I felt like I needed to take care of her, but at the same time, I was living a lie because I wasn’t happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her because she needed help. I couldn’t express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect."
In 2016

Three years after the band of the three brothers disbanded and Joe joined DNCE, he surprised fans at one of his concerts in Los Angeles with a surprise duet with none other than Demi Lovato.
During a candid chat with Billboard, she stated, "Getting back together and getting to perform with Joe is awesome."
In 2017

They seemed to have met again at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, where they also posed for a picture with Joe’s younger brother Nick as well.
Demi and the 32-year-old singer had gotten quite close over time and became good friends.
They even teamed up for the Future Now Tour and later joined James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, where the Princess Protection Program actress playfully dished out on the Miley, Selena and Nick love triangle.
However, the two reportedly had a falling out.
On the show, the duo also clarified that they were never romantically involved but their admirers weren’t convinced, especially after Demi dropped a song that many fans believed was about him.
During her appearance on Ellen in 2017, the host Ellen DeGeneres didn’t beat around the bush and asked the star if the song was about the Jealous maker.
Demi was quick to deflect and said, "Something that I will always keep to myself is who I write my songs about," with a smile.

Now, Demi Lovato shared the stage with the three brothers during their Greetings from Your Hometown Tour performing songs with Joe from Camp Rock and its sequel.
