You won’t believe surprisingly THESE divas never won an Oscar

Oscars is a matter of fact a huge honour for the actors and winning it is often considered the pinnacle of success in the entertainment industry and if we talk about actresses, there are divas such as Emily Blunt, Demi Moore, and Naomi Watts who have mind blowing movies on their lists but didn’t receive the huge recognition yet.

Indeed, Oscar wins get the glory to them but it's equally important to acknowledge Oscar snubs.

So, here is a list of 10 female actors who surprisingly did not take home an Academy Award:

Emily Blunt

Blunt, who will soon star in The Smashing Machine, has done variety of roles throughout her career, but hasn’t won an Oscar yet.

The Fall Guy actress has been nominated for the Academy Awards and had received her first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 2023’s Oppenheimer in 2024.

However, the Devil Wears Prada performer has won the Screen Actors Guild Award for female actor in a supporting role for A Quiet Place and was nominated for a SAG award for Mary Poppins Returns in 2018.

Demi Moore

Moore has not won an Oscar yet but she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in The Substance at the 97th Academy Awards, which she lost to Mikey Madison for 2024’s Anora.

The 62-year-old actress has won various popular awards which includes Golden Globe Award, Critics' Choice Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and, BAFTA Awards.

Keira Knightley

Knightley, despite being nominated twice for Pride & Prejudice and The Imitation Game, has not won an Oscar yet.

But the good part is that the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest actress has been recognised numerous times, winning Empire Awards, Teen Choice Awards and People's Choice Awards.

Keira Knightley was also nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Play for The Misanthrope.

Scarlett Johansson

Johansson hasn't won an Oscar yet, despite being nominated twice for her roles in Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit.

The Black Widow actresses has received numerous awards including BAFTA Award, and Tony Award.

Amy Adams

The six-time nominee has been recognised for her amazing work in Doubt, Junebug, The Fighter, The Master, Vice, and American Hustle but surprisingly she never won an Oscar.

The Enchanted actress has, however, received numerous other achievements including two Golden Globe Awards, Screen Actors Guild Award, Critics' Choice Awards, and Independent Spirit Award.

Winona Ryder

The Stranger Things star has never won an Oscar so far despite being nominated twice.

Ryder had been nominated for her work in and 1993’s for The Age of Innocence and, 2019’s Little Women.

Although the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice performer hasn't received an Academy Award, she has been recognised with numerous awards for her role in Heathers, Reality Bites, and Beetlejuice.

Helena Bonham Carter

From starring in the Harry Potter series, Alice in Wonderland and The King's Speech, Carter is no doubt one of the most acclaimed actresses in the entertainment industry.

However, she has never won an Oscar and in fact, the A Room With a View actress has only been nominated twice, and it was for her roles in 1988’s The Wings of the Dove and 2011’s The King's Speech.

Naomi Watts

Watts, who has a diverse portfolio of cinematic work, has not won an Oscar despite being nominated twice in the Best Actress category.

The The Painted Veil actress has been nominated for her astonishing acting in The Impossible and 21 Grams.

Taraji P. Henson

The The Curious Case of Benjamin Button actress has not won an Oscar yet and hasn't been nominated also, however, Henson does have a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and two NAACP Image Awards.

Glenn Close

Did you know the 101 Dalmatians actress has been nominated for eight Academy Awards?

Glenn Close has received eight Oscar nominations for the films including The World According to Garp, The Big Chill, The Natural, Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons, Albert Nobbs, The Wife, and Hillbilly Elegy.

Despite the nominations, the actress has not yet won an Oscar.

Sigourney Weaver

Weaver has not won a competitive award despite being nominated three times for her amazing work in movies such as Aliens, Gorillas in the Mist, and Working Girl.

Annette Bening

Bening has been nominated for an Oscar a total of five times for her roles in Nyad, The Grifters, American Beauty, Being Julia, and The Kids Are All Right.

The Poolman has been recognised with numerous other accolades, including BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Isabelle Huppert

Huppert has been nominated for an Academy Award just once, for her performance in Paul Verhoeven’s 2016 erotic thriller Elle.

Carey Mulligan

Earning her third best actress Oscar nod for Maestro last year— Mulligan had previously been recognised for her roles in An Education and Promising Young Woman.

Her other awards include BAFTA Award, Independent Spirit Award, and British Independent Film Award.

Saoirse Ronan

Ronan has not won an Oscar despite being nominated four times for her outstanding performances in various films in Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird, and, most recently, Little Women.
