Celebrities have the power to draw attention to important issues, including the conversation around body image.

According to Healthline, body image refers to the perceptions and attitudes one has about their physical appearance, encompassing how they view themselves and how they believe others perceive them.

Here are the Hollywood A-listers who have spoken out about body image:

Adele

In a 2021 interview with Vogue, the Hello hitmaker addressed the conversations revolving around her weight loss.

Adele shared that people were shocked because she did not reveal her journey, but she quickly added that she doesn't give a “flying f***.”

“I did it for myself and not anyone else. So why would I ever share it? I don’t find it fascinating. It’s my body,” she lashed out.

Zac Efron

The Disney star garnered massive attention after playing the leading role in Baywatch (2017), as fans admired the chiseled physique he had attained.

Zac shared that to achieve the look, he had to overlook other significant things.

He warned people who aspired to have that type of body to know that he did that at the expense of his own health, compromising his sleep and mental well-being.

Selena Gomez

In 2017, the Rare songstress underwent an emergency kidney transplant.

However, in 2020, Selena shared that initially it was very difficult for her to show her scar from the surgery, but eventually she found strength to tell the world who she really is and what she went through.

Jonah Hill

In a 2020 interview with GQ, the Superbad actor opened up about embracing his personal style after long being known as “the big guy.”

“I think the biggest shift in my personal style was that I always had an interest in personal style and fashion, but I was always a bigger guy,” Jonah said.

He shared that his turning point came when he realised that whether he was “big or small,” he really can define his own personal style, a way that allows him to truly be himself.
