Forbidden and banned? THESE actors surprisingly can't attend Oscars
Celebrities who are barred from attending Oscars will shock you

The glamour of the Oscars often overshadows the important rules and consequences enforced by the Award Academy.
While many celebrities including A-listers dream of attending and winning or even hosting the Academy awards, some of them have been barred for good.
From throwing tantrums on-stage and slapping the host to facing serious allegations; here is a list of actors, who are forbidden from attending the Oscars:
Will Smith
Smith is the recent example of being banned in 2022 from attending the Academy for 10 years.
The Bad Boys: Ride or Die actor slapped host Chris Rock on stage over an unscripted joke about his wife's shaved head.
As a consequence, the Academy while announcing its ban on the I am Legend actor stating that the 94th Oscars were meant to be a celebration, however, those moments were overshadowed by Smith’s unacceptable and harmful behaviour on stage.
In his response, Smith also issued a brief statement, "I accept and respect the Academy's decision."
Will Smith, however, remains eligible to be nominated and win Oscars in the future.
Bill Cosby
When one of the world's most well-known entertainers and comedians was convicted of sexual assault charges, the Academy expelled him from their ranks.
The TV star was convicted of sexual assault in 2018 for drugging and molesting Basketball player, Andrea Constand.
The Cosby Show host was sent to prison the same year, though it was later overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2021.
In a statement, the Academy announced that its board has voted to expel the actor from its membership in accordance with the organisation's “Standards of Conduct”.
Cosby had never publicly reacted to the academy's decision, however, his wife Camille, described his conviction as "mob justice, not real justice".
Roman Polanski
The following year, the French filmmaker and actor was also banned from the Oscar body over avoiding sentencing for a felony charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor by fleeing the U.S. in 1978.
Richard Gere
The Pretty Woman actor received a ban from the Academy Awards from presenting for 20 years instead of being expelled.
In 1993, he went off-script during the ceremony and talked about human rights abuses in Tibet, criticising the Chinese government.
His action was as a political stunt by the Academy's producer at that time, resulting in Gere being unwelcome at the Oscars for two decades, which was eventually lifted in 2013.
