Even Hollywood’s biggest stars sometimes put fame on pause to focus on family. Here are a few who stepped back from their careers to raise their kids:

Julia Roberts

As big of a name as Julia Roberts is, after marrying Danny Moder, she moved to New Mexico where they raised their three children.

She revealed in an interview that she takes great pride in being at home with her family and considers herself a homemaker.

Vera Farmiga

The Conjuring star has been very selective about roles that would take her away from her family.

Instead of leaving to star in a movie, Vera prefers spending time with her family on their farm in Upstate New York.

She has stated that she'll always make sure acting doesn't interfere with parenting, as being a mother is her top priority.

David Beckham

Even after retiring from professional football, David hasn't been sitting still.

Instead of taking it easy, he honourably embraced a new challenge— caring for his children.

The renowned football icon fully supports his wife, Victoria Beckham, in her career as a successful fashion designer, while also raising their four children.

When asked if his current duties label him as a stay-at-home dad, he proudly responded, "I really am. But I love it. I’ve been lucky, I’ve always been able to take the boys to school in the mornings and pick them up and make them dinner and things like that. So I do even more of that."

Shania Twain

Shania dominated country music in the 1990s and early 2000s.

She married Mutt Lange in 1993, and the couple welcomed their daughter in 2001.

The couple raised their child in Switzerland, but during that time Shania was also battling Lyme illness and dysphonia, which impaired her singing voice.

As a result, she took an extended break from music to focus on her health and being a parent.

She eventually returned to the music scene with the release of her first studio album in 15 years.

Halle Berry

The Oscar-winning actress had her first child, Nahla, in 2008, leading her to take a long break from work.

It wasn't until two years later that Halle starred in another film, Frankie & Alice.
