King Charles is set to lead the Royal Family at the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph in London.

On November 9, the 76-year-old monarch will be joined by other members of the royal household and senior politicians for the National Service of Remembrance.

During the event, King Charles and his family members will lay wreaths to pay tribute to those who died in war conflicts.

The march-past, a formal military parade organised by the Royal British Legion, will feature 10,000 armed forces personnel and about 20 World War II veterans, marking 80 years since the war ended.

Referring to the event, Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the UK, noted, “This Remembrance Sunday, we pause as a nation to honour all those who have served our country.”

Sir Keir continued, “We reflect on the extraordinary courage of our armed forces in the world wars and subsequent conflicts, whose service secured the freedoms we cherish today."

“Eighty years since the end of the Second World War, we remember a generation who stood against tyranny and shaped our future. Their legacy is peace, and our duty is to protect it,” he further remarked.

Toward the end, Starmer said, “Such sacrifice deserves more than silence, which is why this Government remains committed to supporting veterans, their families and those who serve. Today, we remember, and we renew our promise to uphold the values they fought for.”

This update comes after King Charles and Queen Camilla led the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, November 8.

Alongside the King and Queen, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, Prince Richard, and Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester were also present.

Prince William was notably absent, as he is currently in Brazil for the COP30 climate summit.
