The Duke and Duchess of Sussex encountered survivors of the tragic event at Bondi Beach on Friday.

This visit marked the conclusion of the couple's tour in Australia.

Prince Harry and Meghan also connected with emergency responders who attended to the shooting that occurred on December 14, 2025, as well as with the Sydney Jewish Museum representatives, which is launching an exhibit regarding the attacks.

The tragic event resulted in 15 fatalities and 40 injuries when two shooters opened fire on a gathering celebrating Hanukkah's first day.

The duke and duchess engaged with Elon Zizer, 40, a survivor who was shot multiple times while protecting his children.

"Meeting the duke and duchess is an honor. It’s touching that they took the time to meet us," he expressed.

"This gesture is truly special – it makes us feel acknowledged."

Lifeguard Jonathan Botts, who responded to the incident, mentioned that Harry and Meghan's visit "means a lot".

"They’ve dedicated time from their brief stay in Australia to visit the location and meet many affected individuals," he noted.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex observed artifacts set to be part of a new display at the Sydney Jewish Museum.

They conversed with the museum's senior curator, Shannon Biederman, who remarked that their visit was "extremely special".

The New South Wales Police have charged alleged shooter Naveed Akram, 24, with 59 counts, including 15 murders, related to the tragedy.

The couple also engaged with Jessica Chapnik Kahn at the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club, who experienced the attack at the beach with her young daughter.

The duo also chatted with Jessica Chapnik Kahn at the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club, who witnessed the attack on the beach with her five-year-old girl. Meeting Harry and Meghan was described as an "honor" by Jessica.

"The significant issue currently is hate," she elaborated.

"Hatred is a widespread human issue we’re confronting. So bringing attention to it and connecting with them at this emotional level is indeed special."

She continued: "When gunfire erupted, we dashed towards the beach, realizing soon that reaching the beach safely wasn’t viable. So, we took shelter in a picnic area.

"I couldn’t bear the thought of my daughter’s last moments being marked by chaos – gunshots, sirens, and the cries of mothers.

"Therefore, softly I instructed her to connect with her inner peace, filled with love, and to stay there. Stay in your heart, little one'.

"And she listened, so we lay together in this comforting heart space amid the chaos for however long it took, and survived."

Subsequently, the duo walked onto the sand, greeted warmly by numerous beachgoers enjoying the sun.
