Taylor Swift was notably absent from the list of nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards as much to the disappointment of her fans.

The 14 time Grammy winner did not receive any nominations as the announcement for the 68th annual awards was made on Friday, November 7, 2025.

The reason behind the Blank Space songstress’ snub is straightforward. The eligibility period for this year’s Grammys ran from August 31, 2024 through August 30, 2025.

However, the 35-year-old released her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3 which was after the cutoff date.

According to Daily Mail, this timing meant the album was ineligible for consideration.

Moreover, Swift did not release any singles, music videos or other records during the eligibility period that could have qualified her for a nomination.

The Cruel Summer singer's previous album, The Tortured Poets Department was released in April 2024, falling within the duration of eligibility for last year’s Grammys.

Despite the disappointment Swifties have expressed their anger on social media highlighting the unfortunate timing of her release.

While the pop icon may be missing from this year’s nominations as her influence and success in the music industry remain undeniable.

Fans are hopeful that Taylor Swift's next releases will align with Grammy eligibility as keeping her streak of honour alive.
