‘Rush Hour 4’ is officially moving forward, and the surprise reason behind its revival has made headlines.

According to Semafor, President Donald Trump personally urged Paramount to bring the hit action-comedy franchise back.

Paramount has now agreed to distribute the new film, but the studio won’t be financing or marketing it. They’ll simply handle the release, while Warner Bros. will receive a share of the box office from the start.

The project also marks a major comeback. Director Brett Ratner, who made the first three films before his career unravelled in 2017 due to #MeToo allegations, is returning to lead the fourth instalment.

Ratner reportedly grew close to the Trump family again while directing ‘Melania’, a documentary Amazon bought for around $40 million.

Fans will see the return of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, who last appeared together in ‘Rush Hour 3’ back in 2007.

The first ‘Rush Hour’ released in 1998, became a worldwide hit and made Chan and Tucker one of Hollywood’s most iconic action-comedy duos.
