The premiere of Stranger Things Season 5 has caused a havoc on Netflix.

According to Variety, the streaming giant faced a technical glitch as it was briefly crashed worldwide on Thursday, November 27 due to an overwhelming surge of traffic the moment the series launched.

Reports of errors began appearing online within minutes, with users sharing screenshots of frozen home screens, failed playback attempts, and repeated “network error” notifications.

The outage began exactly with the global release window, strongly indicating that Stranger Things’ massive viewership demand overloaded Netflix’s servers.

The highly anticipated series’ sudden crash and unavailability on the streaming concerned many social media users, who basically spent years awaiting since the start of the month.

However, Netflix has not yet released any official statement regarding the glitch.

Moreover, luckily after an almost three-minute crash, the streaming giant was stabilised shortly, letting the viewers complete their remaining newly released four episodes.

For the unversed, Stranger Things Season 5, which recently released its first volume, is set to premiere two more volumes: one on December 25, containing three episodes, and the finale on December 31, 2025.
