Meghan Markle receives brutal tag amid rift with father
The Duchess of Sussex featured as ‘villain of the year’ in controversial store display
Meghan Markle has recently been labelled “villain of the year” in a shocking and provocative move by a luxury LA boutique, amid her continued lack of contact with her estranged father, Thomas Markle, who had his left leg amputated last Wednesday.
The Duchess of Sussex's new title, alongside "Montecito diva" was featured in a holiday display at the high-end department store Kitson, which has showcased its annual “Holiday hypocrites” window display since 2020.
Meghan appeared in the display as a cardboard cut-out wearing a Santa hat, surrounded by negative headlines.
She was showcased alongside other so-called "villains", including Katy Perry, California governor Gavin Newsom, and George Clooney.
Notably, this is not the first time the boutique, located about an hour from where the royal couple live in Montecito, has taken a jab at the Suits actress.
After Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the U.S., the store began selling "Team Harry & Meghan" and "Team William & Kate" T-shirts.
The latest label comes just as a source close to the mother-o-two told The Times that she plans to send a handwritten note to her father.
"There's been progress, but she hasn't made contact [yet]... It's hoped and expected that there will be some form of communication in the next 24 hours," the insider shared.
For those unversed, Meghan Markle has had no direct contact with Thomas Markle since her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
