Meghan Markle faces new blow as father seeks major TV deal to make ‘real money’
The Duchess of Sussex’s estranged father reportedly pitching TV deal after surgery
Meghan Markle is reportedly facing yet another setback as her father, Thomas Markle, is said to be considering a tell-all television interview.
Just a week after the Duchess of Sussex’s estranged father made headlines with news of his sudden leg amputation surgery, sources now claim that he is exploring the possibility of an explosive on-air interview to make “real money.”
A tipster told gossip blogger Rob Shuter, "Thomas is angling for a payday. He wants a TV deal. He’s already done the print interview and the photo — now he’s shopping the on-air version. He wants real money."
While another revealed that the Duchess’s father "keeps saying the picture of him without a leg would be ‘powerful.’ He thinks TV networks will bite. He’s asking around for numbers."
"He knows exactly how this tango works — he’s done it before," the source continued.
"Thomas isn’t subtle about any of this. He’s shopping the story,” another confidant noted. "He thinks people will pay because of who Meghan is — and because TV pays more than print.”
This revelation comes after the Daily Mail reported that Thomas had been moved out of ICU following "painful" surgery, which took place at a private hospital in Philippines on Wednesday, December 3.
However, Meghan Markle has faced online criticism in recent days for promoting the holiday special episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which aired on the same day as her father’s surgery.
