Taylor Swift opens up about her most loved songs: ‘This is so much pressure’

Taylor Swift has set the record straight by revealing her personal favourite songs from her extensive musical catalogue.

On Wednesday, December 10, while speaking to Stephen Colbert on his show, the 35-year-old pop sensation was asked to name her top five songs.

Colbert noted that by answering, Swift would be joining the esteemed ranks of Dolly Parton, Elton John, Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen.

The 14-time Grammy winner initially struggled to narrow down her favourites from her long-standing career but eventually shared a few.

“This is so much pressure,” she told the 61-year-old comedian and writer.

Requesting more time, Swift said, “I think I require a little bit of time to like, appreciate my work in a way… and it’s constantly changing, right. It’s a little too soon.”

Finally deciding, she admitted, “All Too Well,” the 10-minute version, which was released as part of the re-recorded album, Red (Taylor’s Version), in November 2021.

The Opalite hitmaker added, “I’m really obsessed with 'The Life of a Showgirl' right now, the whole album.”

Swift also selected Mirrorball from her headline-grabbing 2020 album Folklore, though she noted that she “can’t really do any of the others.”

Toward the end, she shared that she “would do an update at some point.”

Colbert wittingly responded, “You’ve got all the time you need between now and May.”

The revelation comes shortly after an exclusive teaser for the first two episodes of her End of an Era docuseries dropped on Instagram, showing Swift getting emotional.

The first two episodes of the docuseries will be available on Disney+ on December 12, with two new episodes released each week.

Also premiering on the same platform on December 12 is Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a concert film documenting her final performance of The Eras Tour, which took place on December 8, 2024 in Vancouver, Canada.
