Why Taylor Swift credits Emma Stone for key Eras Tour decision
‘The Fate of Ophelia’ singer opens up about Emma Stone’s influence on Eras Tour
Taylor Swift recently shared how her close friend Emma Stone played a key role in making the Eras Tour a record-breaking experience.
In her latest Disney+ docuseries, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour | The End of an Era, the 35-year-old pop sensation reflected on the 37-year-old actress' influence on one of the tour’s most memorable elements.
"With choreography, I asked one of my friends, Emma Stone, who's done a lot of work in dance in her films," the 14-time Grammy winner recalled.
She added, "Who have you worked with that you would recommend for this?’ She's like, 'There’s only one person that needs to be on your list, and it's Mandy Moore.'"
For those unversed, Stone and Moore previously collaborated on the 2016 Oscar-winning film La La Land.
The 49-year-old choreographer shared that she initially didn't expect to be approached by Swift, explaining that she usually prefers film projects.
“I never would have thought that I would be in the same sentence as Taylor Swift, ever, in my life. You know, I’ve always been a big fan, but I, funny enough, I come from really more film and television. I don’t really do artist performance,” Moore revealed in the docuseries.
Toward the end, she noted, “Now I understand why I was brought in, ’cause she really wanted to do something different, and she likes the storytelling.”
It is worth noting that Taylor Swift and Emma Stone have been close friends for over 15 years, first meeting at the Young Hollywood Awards in 2008.
