Barry Keoghan opens up about joining Netflix’s ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie
Barry Keoghan shares first details of his ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie role
Barry Keoghan has recently shared new insights into his role in Netflix’s forthcoming Peaky Blinders film, The Immortal Man.
Despite the 33-year-old actor’s casting being announced last year, details about his character had remained under wraps until now.
Keoghan will portray the leader of a new generation of Peaky Blinders in 1940s Birmingham.
A first-look image has emerged, showing the Irish actor leading a group of men wearing flat caps.
Speaking in to Empire Magazine, Keoghan admitted that he feels the pressure of continuing the show’s legacy, particularly when it comes to delivering its most famous line.
“I feel like I shouldn’t be allowed to say it,” he said, referring to the phrase “By order of the Peaky Blinders.”
“It’s such an iconic line,” the Dunkirk actor noted.
Keoghan revealed he had hoped to be a part of Peaky Blinders for years, but timing and casting requirements never aligned.
“The schedules never worked, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for,” he explained.
The Saltburn star recalled that the opportunity arose when Cillian Murphy, who reprises his iconic role as Tommy Shelby in the upcoming film, reached out to him personally — prompting Keoghan to accept the offer without any hesitation.
The Immortal Man, starring Barry Keoghan, is scheduled for a cinema release on March 6, 2026, before arriving on Netflix two weeks later.
