Peter Greene, the actor best known for his roles in Pulp Fiction and The Mask has breathed his last at the age of 60.

On Friday, December 12, he was found dead in his Lower East Side apartment in New York City as his manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed to NBC News

His manager shared that a wellness check had been carried out at Greene’s residence after neighbors reported music playing for more than 24 hours and he added that he had spoken with Greene earlier in the week.

“Nobody played a bad guy better than Peter, but he also had, you know, a gentle side that most people never saw, and a heart as big as gold,” Edwards told the outlet.

The cause of his death has not been revealed. 

It is worth noting Greene made his first onscreen appearance in 1990 with a single episode of NBC’s crime drama Hardball. He made his film debut two years later in Laws of Gravity, starring alongside Edie Falco.

He rose to fame in the early 1990s with memorable performances in Clean Shaven , The Mask as the villainous Dorian Tyrell opposite Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz and Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction.

The American star further built a strong reputation as a character actor with roles in Kiss & Tell, The Usual Suspects, Blue Streak and Training Day, starring alongside Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.

On television, the actor had recurring roles in The Black Donnellys, Life on Mars and Chicago P.D.

His most recent appearances included the John Wick prequel series The Continental and an episode of Dope Thief in 2025.
