Timothée Chalamet recently revealed he was against the buzz cut he debuted earlier this year for Dune: Part Three.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the 29-year-old actor said the haircut was requested by director Denis Villeneuve, who repeatedly pushed for his hair to go “shorter and shorter” ahead of filming.

The Marty Supreme actor confirmed that the transformation began on June 25 with a three-millimetre cut, but when a one-millimetre trim was suggested, he admitted he “begged” to keep his hair longer, calling it an extension of personality.

Despite his denial, the actor later agreed, explaining the look was essential to reflect Paul Atreides’ evolution.

“I’m playing him 15 to 20 years older,” he remarked, describing the haircut as a deliberate character shift.

Meanwhile, the buzz cut, first spotted in July and confirmed in October, marked one of Chalamet’s most dramatic on-screen transformations to date.
