Josh O’Connor made his Saturday Night Live debut on December 13, where he was joined by musical guest Lily Allen.

Fresh off the praise for his comedic chops in a third Knives Out release, Josh strutted his way through an endearingly clumsy opening monologue, where he discussed his resemblance with the mouse protagonist in the animated film Flushed Away and his love for another rodent-themed movie, Ratatouille.

Describing the film as one of his favourites, the newly cemented Knives Out alum recalled being rejected for a live-action version of the Pixar film by the company’s own president.

“But I suppose fans started pitching me as Chef Linguini for a live-action ‘Ratatouille’ remake. And I’m not very online, so I didn’t know that this was a thing until the president of Disney-Pixar publicly declared that there will never be a live action ‘Ratatouille’ remake, no matter how much Josh O’Connor wants it,” he said. “Do you know how it feels to be publicly rejected from a job I didn’t even want?”

Later in the evening, Lily Allen performed Sleepwalking, the third track from her recently released album West End Girl.

This was her second appearance as a musical guest on the comedy sketch series, previously participating in an episode hosted by Dakota Johnson.

SNL’s final episode of 2025 is set to be hosted by Ariana Grande on December 20, with Cher serving as the musical guest in her first appearance on the show since 1987.

Meanwhile, Josh O’Connor can be seen in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, which started streaming on Netflix December 12.
