Mariah the Scientist gets dream proposal from Young Thug during Atlanta concert

Mariah the Scientist is reportedly getting her wish, after her longtime boyfriend Young Thug proposed to her during a live performance.

Footage from Tuesday shows the rapper asking his longtime girlfriend to marry him in front of a crowd at the Hometown Hero: Young Thug & Friends - A Benefit Concert at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

In the video shared on social media, Young pulled out an engagement ring while the words “Will You Marry Me” appeared on screen.

The 28-year-old singer had previously shared her desire to get married during a December interview with Angie Martinez, saying she wants to “settle down.”

Mariah explained that marriage is a personal goal, revealing her plans for parenthood, saying that she wants "at least one" child. 

"I'll start with that and see how I can manage," she said.

The Dark Days singer added that her motivation for marriage is love rather than obligation. 

"I just want a commitment that doesn't involve an obligation to a baby," she explained. "I just want it to be out of love, not out of responsibility."

Back in November, when GQ asked if the couple was still “going strong,” the Revenge rapper responded, “Of course. Just put a baby in her,” prompting laughs from the audience. 

The couple had reconciled in October after a brief split.

The Spread Thin hitmaker has been a steadfast support for the rapper, particularly during his RICO trial which saw him incarcerated from May 2022 to October 2024. 

During a stream with Adin Ross, Young Thug had discussed his time in prison.

Mariah the Scientist has been dating her longtime boyfriend since 2021.
