‘Game of Thrones’ star Kit Harington joins the ‘Harry Potter’ universe
'It was a really simple yes, because I love the character,' Kit says
Kit Harington is stepping into the wizarding world.
The Game of Thrones star has joined the Harry Potter universe by lending his voice to Audible’s new audiobook production of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Kit will voice Gilderoy Lockhart, the famous wizard introduced in the second book of J.K. Rowling’s series.
Speaking about the role, Kit said it was an easy decision. “It was a really simple yes, because I love the character,” he shared, calling Lockhart an entertaining and larger-than-life figure, as per Variety.
“As far as cameos in a series go, you don’t get much more entertaining and fun to do as an actor than Gilderoy Lockhart. It was a no-brainer.”
The actor also revealed he has grown up with the series, and he still listens to the audiobooks regularly.
“I’ve gone to bed every evening for the past six or seven years listening to them… it’s a kind of sleep aid for me. I know them like the back of my hand. I’m a complete nerd for the books,” he shared.
