Astronomer’s former chief people officer, Kristin Cabot opened up about her employment status.

For the unversed, the Astrnormer CEO Andy Byron and former Hr executive Kristin Cabot were seen at a Coldplay concert, where they were filmed kissing during the kiss cam at Gillette Stadium near Boston.

Resulting, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joked from the stage that they might be having an affair. The video quickly went viral and reached over 100 million views.

While speaking with The Newyork Times, Cabot said that the Coldplay kiss controversy cost her job and has left her struggling to rebuild her career.

Moreover, Cabot addressed her present circumstances, saying, “It has been like a scarlet letter.”

She added that she has been told she is now “unemployable” while searching for a new role.

Cabot, also criticising the internet, said, “People erased everything I’d accomplished in my life and achieved in my career.”

She highlighted that assumptions about an affair with then-CEO Andy Byron fueled public shaming, harassment, and threats following the incident.

Elsewhere in the interview, Cabot said the astronomer asked her to return following an internal investigation. Still, she declined and instead negotiated her resignation, citing the impossibility of continuing in an HR leadership role amid public hate.

“I could not imagine how I could stand up as H.R. chief when I was a laughingstock,” she told the outlet, explaining why she declined the company’s request to return after an internal investigation. “This can’t be the final word,” Cabot said.

“If it hadn’t turned into what it did online, I could have stood up and said, ‘It was a really bad decision and I regret it."

In the end, Kristin Cabot added, “I’m so sorry for the position I put you all in, but I’m committed to this place' and stayed in my job.”
