Rob Reiner was paid a quietly moving tribute during the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.

Aired on December 20, the show included a tribute card for the late comedian and filmmaker just before its goodnights segment.

The show shared the same image featured in the episode to their official Instagram page, simply captioning it, “Rob Reiner,” followed by a broken heart emoji.

Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead at their home in Brentwood, California on December 14.

In the shocking aftermath of their deaths, it was discovered that the couple had been slain by their knife-wielding son Nick Reiner, who was soon arrested, charged, and later presented in court.

Refusing to enter a plea for his case, the offender’s arraignment was scheduled by the court in Los Angeles for January 7, 2026.

Meanwhile, Rob Reiner was one of the first people to host Saturday Night Live, making his first appearance on the show during only its third episode ever in 1975.

The episode is often remembered for being one of the rare ones which did not feature a musical guest.
