A look back at 2025's best animated films

This year has been an incredible year for animated movies that have captivated audiences worldwide.

From Pixar's latest movie Elio to Zootopia 2; here’s a list of the highest-grossing animated films of all time:

1. Zootopia 2

Released in November 2025, the sequel of Zootopia continues the adventures of Officer Judy Hopps.

The cop along with her team tackle a new mystery involving Gary the snake and the city's marginalised "indigenous" animals, exploring themes of immigration, stereotypes, and social divides while testing their partnership and taking viewers to new parts of the metropolis.

2. Elio

The original sci-fi adventure animated movie focuses on a young, imaginative space enthusiast who is mistakenly identified as Earth's ambassador to an intergalactic alliance.

3. KPop Demon Hunters

The Netflix animated movie follows a K-pop girl group, Huntrix, who lead double lives as demon hunters.

They face off against a rival boy band, the Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons.

The movie features the voices of Ahn Hyo-seop, Arden Cho, May Hong, Ji-young Yoo, Yunjin Kim, Lee Byung-hun, Daniel Dae Kim, and Ken Jeong.

4. The Bad Guys 2

The 2025 American animated heist comedy film is loosely based on the children's book series The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey.

The sequel to 2022’s The Bad Guys, the film stars Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Zazie Beetz, Alex Borstein, Richard Ayoade, and Lilly Singh, reprising their roles from the first film.

Moreover Danielle Brooks, Natasha Lyonne, and Maria Bakalova will join the cast as new members.

5. Fixed

The adult animated comedy features the voices of Adam DeVine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Michelle Buteau, River Gallo, and Bobby Moynihan.

The film revolves around a dog named Bull who sets out to win the heart of his crush named Honey while also dealing with the fact that he is going to be neutered.

6. In Your Dreams

The 2025 animated Netflix film is about siblings Stevie and Elliot, who journey into their dream world to find the wish-granting Sandman to prevent their parents from separating.

It's a story of family, anxiety, and finding connection, featuring whimsical dreamscapes and themes of growing up amidst parental strife.
