Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are finding it rather difficult to leave the Stark family behind.

The British pair, who famously played siblings Sansa and Jon Snow for eight seasons, have reunited as lovers in the Gothic horror film The Dreadful.

However, a newly released behind-the-scenes clip reveals that their transition from relatives to romantics involved a fair amount of playful gagging.

The footage shows the two sharing a kiss in character before immediately retching once the director calls "cut!"

This light-hearted reaction mirrors Turner’s previous comments on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she joked about the script being filled with intimate moments.

"I'm like, 'Oh, shoot ... that's my brother,'" she quipped, admitting that she and Harington were "both retching" during filming. In another interview, she even apologised to fans, saying, "It's really weird for all of us.”

Beyond the psychological awkwardness, Harington faced a more practical hurdle during their romantic scenes.

"It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she's about a foot taller than me," he revealed, adding that despite the height difference, his "dignity was pretty intact."

It was actually Turner who pushed for Harington’s casting, suggesting him for the role set against the backdrop of the Wars of the Roses.

Directed by Natasha Kermani, the film lands in select theatres and on digital this Friday. Fans can finally see if the on-screen chemistry overcomes the off-screen hilarity of two old friends pretending to be in love.
