A burglar, tracked by police through the AirPods he pilfered from a couple's residence last December, has been sentenced in the UK.

Canterbury Crown Court decreed that Anthony Allen, 47, serve two years, four months, and 23 days of prison time for the burglary and was imprisoned on February 27, as stated by the UK's Metro and local paper Kent Online.

Kent Police were alerted to a suspected break-in at a ransacked Ashford home in the early morning hours of December 26.

The items stolen, according to the UK outlets, included jewelry, cash, and the AirPods, amounting to thousands of dollars.

Leveraging the AirPods' built-in tracking feature, police located Allen hiding in a loft in Stanhope on December 27.

Rozerin Olgun, whose parents were victimized by the burglary, expressed dissatisfaction with Allen's nearly 29-month sentence handed by the court.

“He has committed such acts before, so he will likely reoffend. That's why I feel two years isn't sufficient,” stated Olgun, highlighting Allen’s “25 prior criminal convictions for 55 offenses” as noted by Metro and Kent Online.
