Public assistance sought to locate Angela S. Long following prison escape
Angela S. Long reportedly entered a black car after fleeing a re-entry centre
Kentucky State Police have launched an urgent search for an inmate who escaped from a re-entry facility on Friday evening.
Authorities in Henderson sought the public’s assistance in locating 45-year-old Angela S. Long through an official bulletin shared on Saturday morning.
According to investigators, Mrs Long was observed fleeing the Dismas Charities facility in Owensboro before entering a black car.
While police have confirmed her departure in the vehicle, further specific details regarding the mechanics of her escape have not yet been disclosed to the public.
Mrs Long is described as a white woman with "long straight brown hair and blue eyes." She stands at 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 170 lbs.
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue jeans, a light blue T-shirt, and grey trainers. A photograph released by the police depicts her wearing large, round eyeglasses and a graphic shirt.
State troopers have urged anyone with information regarding her current whereabouts "to contact their local law enforcement agency or KSP Post 16 at 270-826-3312."
The escapee was serving a sentence for "various theft and substance abuse-related charges," following a conviction in November 2024 in Hart County. Records indicate that her original offences occurred in September 2023.
Prior to her transfer to the re-entry programme, she had been processed through the state’s judicial system for these non-violent crimes.
Local agencies remain on high alert as the investigation into her current location continues across the region.
