Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is experimenting with a redesigned chat bubble interface, offering users a cleaner and more modern look for conversations.

The updated design, currently rolling out to select beta testers on Android version 2.26.10.2 via the Google Play Store, replaces the traditional rectangular bubbles with fully rounded corners.

The refreshed chat bubbles appear slightly taller and smoother, giving chats a lighter, less “blocked” appearance.

The update also changes the way multimedia content is displayed. Photos and videos will no longer be confined to standard message bubbles.

Instead, each media item adopts the new rounded bubble style, creating a more cohesive and visually appealing chat experience.

Previously, WhatsApp’s rectangular bubbles provided structure but often made conversations feel crowded.

The new rounded format aims to improve readability while making the interface feel modern and user-friendly.

Currently, the redesign is only available to beta users who have installed the latest update.

WhatsApp has not confirmed an exact date for a broader rollout, but the platform is expected to make the feature available globally in the near future.

Once widely implemented, the rounded chat bubbles could mark one of the most noticeable visual updates in WhatsApp’s interface history, enhancing the look and feel of conversations for millions of users worldwide.
