Jason and Maddie Duggar condemn 'vile' allegations against Joseph
Jason and Maddie Grace Duggar express disgust following Joseph's arrest for alleged molestation
Jason Duggar and his wife, Maddie Grace Duggar, have become the latest members of the reality-famous family to condemn the "vile" allegations against Joseph Duggar publicly
In a poignant joint statement shared via Instagram on Thursday, the couple expressed that they have spent the week "completely shocked, confused, and grieved" following Joseph's arrest on 18 March.
They described the reports of alleged child molestation as "disgusting" and "unthinkable," stating that their hearts are heavily burdened for the young victim whose life has been "turned upside down."
The couple, who married in 2024, emphasised their commitment to protecting the vulnerable, asserting that anyone who abuses their authority to harass the innocent is acting in an "evil" manner.
"We are angered by what has happened, and we pray God’s righteous hand and the court system will serve justice," the statement read. Jason and Maddie also praised the victim for being "brave enough to share what happened" during the alleged 2020 incident in Florida.
This reaction follows similar sentiments from Jinger Duggar Vuolo and cousin Amy Duggar, who both expressed heartbreak and anger over the situation.
The legal crisis deepened on Friday, as Joseph’s wife, Kendra Duggar, was also arrested. Both now face additional charges, including four counts each of endangering the welfare of a minor and false imprisonment.
Joseph remains in custody at the Washington County Detention Centre on multiple counts of lewd and lascivious behaviour.
While Jason and Maddie have called for justice, their brother Josh Duggar—currently imprisoned for possessing child sexual abuse material—has claimed through his lawyer that the accusations against Joseph are "false."
