Tom Felton calls himself the 'gel' of the Harry Potter cast
Tom Felton jokes that his character keeps the global co-stars connected 15 years later
Tom Felton has opened up about his enduring bond with his Harry Potter co-stars, specifically highlighting Emma Watson as the individual he admires most from the legendary ensemble.
Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast on Thursday, the 38-year-old actor admitted there is "no one" he respects more for navigating the "pivotal role" of Hermione Granger.
Felton, who played Draco Malfoy, noted that Watson’s experience was uniquely challenging as the only girl in the core trio, starting at just nine years old.
"The added dimension of being a young woman... is another level of complexity. I can’t relate to that, and I can’t even experience it," he confessed.
Despite the cast being scattered across "four different corners of the world," Felton joked that he serves as the "gel" that keeps the group together.
This sense of kinship remains strong in 2026, as Felton is currently making his own Broadway debut, reprising his role as an adult Draco in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre.
He revealed that he has been leaning on Daniel Radcliffe—who is also currently performing on Broadway—for advice on navigating the New York theatre community.
Felton’s comments arrive just as a new generation prepares to enter Hogwarts. Following the release of the first teaser trailer for HBO’s Harry Potter revival series earlier this week, Felton confirmed he has already reached out to Lox Pratt, the young actor cast as the new Draco Malfoy.
While he continues to champion the franchise's future, Felton emphasised that the bond between the original "set family" is a permanent "kinship" that remains unaffected by the passing years or the new adaptations.
