'The Boys' prequel 'Vought Rising' adds James Wolk, Dylan Arnold, Josh Randall in key roles
'The Boys' series executive producer Paul Grellong is executive producer and showrunner for 'Vought Rising'
James Wolk (Watchmen), Dylan Arnold (Lady in the Lake), Josh Randall (Station 19) and Chad Willett (Supernatural) have joined the cast in significant recurring roles in the forthcoming The Boys prequel series Vought Rising at Prime Video.
They will be acting alongside previously announced series leads Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who are returning to their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront, respectively, from the original series.
The Boys series executive producer Paul Grellong is the executive producer and showrunner for Vought Rising.
The series is from the main creative team behind The Boys franchise, spearheaded by the original series developer, executive producer, and showrunner Eric Kripke.
The production includes Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, working together with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.
The fifth and closing season of The Boys will debut on April 8 with the first two episodes, followed by a weekly release of new episodes, leading up to the grand finale on May 20.
Wolk, who has recently appeared in Watchmen and The Boys in the Boat, will be featured in a recurring role in The Shards, an upcoming FX drama series adapted from the Bret Easton Ellis novel, created by Ryan Murphy. He is represented by Gersh and Greenlight Management.
Arnold recently starred in Apple TV’s Lady in the Lake, along with his role in Christopher Nolan’s award-winning film Oppenheimer.
His other recent roles involved a series regular role on Netflix’s You and Hulu’s Into the Dark. He is represented by Gersh and Industry Entertainment.
Randall portrayed series regular characters such as Captain Sean Beckett on Station 19 and Scott Bodwin on Netflix’s Untamed, and had a recurring role on Ozark. He is represented by Framework Entertainment and Realm Talent.
Willett has been seen in both series regular and recurring roles in shows like Supernatural, Big Sky, and movies including Joan of Arc and Hector and the Search for Happiness.
He will next appear as Coach Jensen in Off Campus, Prime Video’s upcoming hockey romance series inspired by Elle Kennedy’s beloved book series. He is represented by RED Management.
