The newly announced sequel to Peaky Blinders has revealed a major casting update, with Jamie Bell stepping into the role of Duke Shelby, replacing Barry Keoghan in the expanding franchise.
According to The Sunday Guardian, Bell will portray Duke Shelby, the son of Cillian Murphy’s iconic character Thomas Shelby.
A first-look teaser released by Netflix offers an early glimpse of Bell in the role, signaling a new chapter for the Shelby family legacy.
The sequel series, officially announced on April 2, 2026, is set to span two seasons, each consisting of six episodes. Production is currently in the development phase.
Set in 1953, the story will unfold in post-World War II Birmingham during a period of rebuilding and industrial expansion.
At the center of the narrative is Duke Shelby, now older and more ambitious, navigating a rapidly changing world.
Bell leads an ensemble cast that includes Charlie Heaton, Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski.
While an official premiere date has not yet been confirmed, the series is expected to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.
In the meantime, all previous seasons of Peaky Blinders, along with its latest film installment, remain available to stream on Netflix, keeping fans connected to the gritty world of the Shelby family.
