Katie Price receives seventh driving ban for 80mph speeding and ignoring police
Katie Price has been banned from driving for seventh time after not responding to police letters
Katie Price has been prohibited from driving for the seventh time after neglecting to reply to police notices regarding an 80mph speeding ticket.
The 47-year-old former glamour model has faced driving bans accumulating over six years since she was first disqualified in 2010.
Her recent legal issue arose when a Ford Capri registered under her name was caught speeding at 80mph on the A64 close to the village of Stutton in North Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire Police reached out to Price at her West Sussex home, requesting her to verify if she was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
She has now been found guilty for not responding to the police, resulting in a six-month driving prohibition and legal fees exceeding £1,000.
In December 2010, Price was suspended from driving for six months after admitting to a speeding violation, faced a year-long ban in 2012 for not responding to fines, and received another six-month suspension in February 2018 after another speeding incident.
In January 2019, she returned to court to admit to driving while banned, leading to a three-month suspension.
A month later, she was convicted for being intoxicated while in control of a vehicle after it was seen by police veering off-road and colliding with a grass embankment.
Price claimed that an unknown man was at the wheel and fled before police arrived, but the judge dismissed her claims as "not credible".
Later in 2019, Price was penalized for not naming the driver in a crash, leading to an 18-month driving ban.
In 2021, a judge criticised Price for having “one of the most concerning driving histories I have ever witnessed”.
She received a 16-week suspended sentence for drink-driving while banned and uninsured.
As a consequence, she received a two-year driving ban, 100 hours of community work, and up to 30 rehabilitation sessions.
In 2024, Price was fined £880 for operating a vehicle without a license and insurance in Northamptonshire but was not banned for those infractions.
Her latest conviction leading to a driving ban was processed last week through the Single Justice Procedure, a private court method where magistrates manage criminal cases behind closed doors.
Court documents indicate Price was charged with speeding and not providing driver information.
