Chad Michael Murray clarified that his nose was reset rather than cosmetically altered
Images of the One Tree Hill actor Chad Michael Murray have recently circulated on social media, leaving fans in a state of disbelief over his appearance prior to a significant teenage injury.
The 44-year-old actor has seen a 1999 yearbook photograph go viral on X, showing his face before his nose was reset at the age of 18.
The transition has sparked intense debate online, with many followers claiming he looks like a "totally different person" in the older imagery.
Addressing the change, Murray previously detailed a violent incident at a fast-food outlet that necessitated medical intervention. "I got jumped in a Burger King when I was 18 and had my nose put on the other side of my face," he told Entertainment Weekly.
He clarified the nature of the procedure, stating: "The doctors didn’t even bother running X-rays. They just reset it. But it wasn’t a nose job — I hate the fact that people say it was a nose job!"
In an interview with Newsweek in August 2025, Murray admitted that he still feels insecure about the feature, noting: “I don’t like my nose because it’s not my nose.”
He described the surgery at Cedar Sinai as a quick process to "pop it back into place." While some fans believe the injury gave him a more "unique" edge, the actor remains candid about the trauma.
This revelation follows Murray’s recent discussions regarding a life-threatening intestinal condition he survived at age 15, and his continued work on various independent film projects.
