Chase Infiniti credits Leonardo DiCaprio for leadership lessons on ‘The Testaments’
Infiniti made supporting her castmates a priority, inspired by DiCaprio’s collaborative approach on set
Chase Infiniti is taking her first leading role on Hulu seriously, and she has Leonardo DiCaprio to thank.
The 25-year-old actress, who stars as Agnes in The Testaments, the sequel series to The Handmaid’s Tale, revealed to People that she leaned heavily on lessons she learned while working alongside DiCaprio on the Paul Thomas Anderson film One Battle After Another.
“I think the thing I learned the most from Leo is he's just such an incredible, gentle leader, and I really admired that,” Infiniti said of the 51-year-old actor.
“And also his level of professionalism that he has.” She added that DiCaprio’s kindness on set left a lasting impression.
“Somebody at that level in their career would really make an effort to be just a kind human being to everybody on set.”
Infiniti said she tried to carry these qualities into The Testaments, which she describes as another “ensemble-heavy project.”
She made herself available to her castmates, offering support whenever someone needed “a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, or just another opinion.”
“I really wanted to make myself available to everyone as much as I possibly could, because I think the way both of those projects thrived was in community,” she said.
In The Testaments, Infiniti plays Agnes, the daughter of a high-ranking Gilead commander, navigating the elite prep school run by Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd).
The series follows Agnes and newcomer Daisy (Lucy Halliday) as their friendship becomes a catalyst to challenge the rigid rules of Gilead.
Moreover, the Hulu series, produced by Handmaid’s Tale alum Elisabeth Moss, also stars Rowan Blanchard, Amy Seimetz, and Mattea Conforti.
The first three episodes of The Testaments are now streaming on Hulu, with new episodes releasing every Wednesday.
