Lambrini Girls cancel coachella debut after singer’s brain injury diagnosis
The band postponed their U.S. tour following a neck fracture and brain injury diagnosis
Punk duo Lambrini Girls have officially withdrawn from their scheduled debut at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival after frontwoman Phoebe Lunny suffered a neck fracture and an acute brain injury, forcing the group to postpone their upcoming U.S. tour.
The band, also featuring Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez, confirmed the news in a statement shared on Instagram, explaining that Lunny’s injuries occurred earlier while the group was in Australia.
According to the post, the condition was initially misdiagnosed, and doctors have now advised that she is unable to fly or perform for at least six weeks.
As a result, Lambrini Girls will reschedule their American headline tour dates and cancel their planned Coachella performances, where they were set to make their festival debut on April 11 and April 18.
However, the duo noted that their UK and European tour dates remain unaffected for now.
In her message to fans, Lunny expressed deep disappointment at missing the landmark festival appearance, calling the situation “gutting” while acknowledging how much she had been looking forward to performing.
She also reflected on the communal energy of live shows and the connection between artists and audiences as one of her greatest sources of joy.
The singer added that while the setback is serious, she is hopeful for recovery and even expressed optimism about a possible return to Coachella in the future, saying the band hopes to be considered for the 2027 edition if circumstances allow.
Lambrini Girls were part of this year’s Coachella lineup alongside major headliners including Justin Bieber, Sabrina Carpenter, and Karol G.
The group has not yet announced revised U.S. tour dates as Lunny continues to recover under medical supervision.
