J-Hope, a prominent member of the South Korean phenomenon BTS, has shared his candid thoughts regarding the group's future and the prospect of retiring at the peak of their success.

In an in-depth interview with Rolling Stone, the artist reflected on whether it is better to "stop everything" while at the top or wait for the inevitable shift in public interest.

The conversation stemmed from his 2022 solo track Arson, which poses the metaphorical question: "Do I put out the fire, or burn even brighter?"Addressing the concept of disbanding, J-Hope admitted, "although, well… Now that some time has passed, I realized it’s probably not something I can stop just because I want to stop it."

He confessed to struggling with the immense responsibility he feels toward his fans and colleagues, noting, "Personally, I’m very affected by the people around me, so I have to think about whether I can handle the emotional effect my decisions will have on so many others."

Ultimately, he decided that "keeping the flame burning" was his most authentic path. Recalling the anxieties he faced during the song's creation, he wondered if the overwhelming "love and attention" was a good thing.

However, he concluded that these pressures have helped him "grow and become an adult," viewing both his solo and group work as essential parts of his life journey.

J-Hope first gained international stardom as the main dancer and rapper of BTS, debuting in 2013. He continues to expand his creative horizons, with the group recently reuniting for their highly anticipated Arirang project following their mandatory military service.
