Influencer Gino Gusich arrested for luxury burglary at Breakers Hotel
Police identified Gino Gusich as a suspect in the theft of high-end designer bags
Influencer Gino Gusich, widely known by his social media handle hellandahandbag, was arrested last weekend following an alleged burglary at the prestigious Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.
According to police affidavits filed on Sunday, the 35-year-old content creator and an associate, Stephanie Lichay, were accused of entering another guest's room and removing high-value items.
The stolen property reportedly included a Hermès mini Kelly bag valued at £25,600 and a Chanel purse worth £1,200, along with a significant amount of cash.
Both Gusich and Lichay, who are residents of Illinois, were registered guests at the hotel at the time of the incident.
The Palm Beach Police Department noted that hotel security cameras captured the pair entering the room after the door was left ajar.
The victim reportedly confronted the suspects, who subsequently returned the luxury accessories. Following their arrest at approximately 2:26 a.m., Gusich was charged with burglary and two counts of larceny, while Lichay faces charges of burglary and grand theft.
Despite the evidence, both suspects have pleaded not guilty. Their attorney informed local news affiliate WPBF 25 that the situation was a "misunderstanding," asserting that the pair "were not up to no good" and had no intention of permanently depriving the owner of their property.
The Breakers Hotel issued a statement emphasising that their surveillance and security measures enabled a "swift response" to hold the suspects accountable.
Gusich, whose Instagram profile recently boasted over 360,000 followers, has since seen his page become unavailable as legal proceedings continue in Palm Beach County.
