Pedro Pascal details how he went from volunteer request to Super Bowl performer
The actor says he originally asked to help with Bad Bunny’s show in any role possible
Pedro Pascal has revealed he was completely unaware he would be taking part in Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show performance earlier this year despite initially volunteering for even the smallest role.
Speaking to Fantastic Man magazine, the 51-year-old actor said he was so eager to be involved that he offered to help in any capacity, even joking that he would “serve coffee” if it meant being part of the production.
“I wanted to participate in any way, literally a volunteer position, like serving coffee if needed,” Pascal said, adding that he reached out through his professional contacts to express interest in joining the show.
Pascal said he did not hear back at first, prompting him to send a selfie to confirm his identity. The move, he joked, quickly got attention from Bad Bunny’s team.
“Within 25 minutes, they called me back and said, ‘We want you to come to the show,’” he recalled.
The Mandalorian star said he initially assumed he would simply be watching the performance from a suite, especially after being told to follow a beige dress code that he thought was for press photos or guests.
Instead, Pascal found himself unexpectedly pulled into the production on the day of the show.
He described being taken backstage, where he encountered artists including Cardi B, Karol G, Young Miko, and Jessica Alba before a wardrobe check confirmed he would actually be performing.
“They told me, ‘Okay, so the vibe is: you’re dancing,’” Pascal said, adding that he only fully realized he would be on stage moments before the show began.
Reflecting on the experience, he admitted the surprise turn of events left him overwhelmed during the performance.
“I think that’s why I seemed like a deer in headlights,” he said, describing the surreal moment of being suddenly thrust into one of the world’s biggest live events.
