Tuesday was an emotional day for fans of the royal family and relatives, as they honored the late Queen Elizabeth II on what would have been her 100th birthday.

Following a day full of events led by King Charles and Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales resumed their duties after taking a three-week break for Easter to attend a reception in the Marble Hall at Buckingham Palace.

Over 200 guests joined them, including representatives from causes the Queen supported, such as Cancer Research UK and the British Red Cross, along with other centenarians celebrating their 100th year, just like the late monarch.

As attendees celebrated the Queen's impact, the Princess of Wales experienced a particularly moving moment with one guest that is sure to bring tears to your eyes.

The Princess, dressed in a graceful pink A-line dress by Emilia Wickstead, was seen having a warm interaction with Tony Gledhill, age 88.

In a touching interaction, Kate leaned in to embrace Tony, then gently held his hands as he expressed heartfelt gratitude.

Tony later shared that he had informed the Princess about the recent passing of his wife of 67 years, who had encouraged him to attend the palace gathering before she passed on.

The remembrance reception was graced by the King and Queen, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, age 90, and Princess Alexandra, age 89.

The senior royals came together for a family portrait to commemorate the day, with the King and Queen in the center and the Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra seated beside them.

The reception honored the life and contributions of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on 8 September 2022 at the age of 96, and included guests from 45 of her supported patronages, including Cancer Research UK, the British Red Cross Society, Jockey Club, Royal Kennel Club, and the Army Benevolent Fund.

Earlier that day, the King shared a video tribute to his "dear Mama" from Balmoral, describing the anniversary as an opportunity to "recall the life and loss of a Sovereign who held deep significance for us all and to once again celebrate the many blessings of her enduring memory."
