Zara Tindall introduces new family member
Zara Tindall brought out an unexpected new family member at her equestrian event
Zara Tindall introduced a new addition to her family over the weekend, revealing a black cocker spaniel during an appearance at a prestigious equestrian competition.
The mother of three appeared relaxed as she participated in the FEI Barefoot Retreats Burnham Market International Horse Trials in Norfolk on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
Dressed in professional riding attire, including white jodhpurs and a dark helmet, the accomplished equestrian competed alongside her horse, Classicals Euro Star.
Following her performance in the ring, she was seen walking the new pup around the event grounds, with onlookers noting the young dog's sleek coat and high energy levels.
This latest arrival joins the Tindall household at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, where Zara and her husband, Mike Tindall, reside with their children, Mia, Lena, and Lucas.
The family are established dog lovers, already owning a brindle boxer named Blink and a pair of black Labradors, Storm and Pepper.
Notably, the trio were named after powerful female characters from the Marvel cinematic universe.
Mike Tindall recently spoke about the emotional challenges of pet ownership on the Oh My Dog podcast, noting that their senior Labrador, Storm, has begun to slow down significantly due to old age.
Zara’s devotion to her pets continues a long-standing royal tradition established by her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The late monarch was famously associated with her Pembroke Welsh corgis and also owned a prize-winning cocker spaniel named Lissy.
As royal author Penny Junor once observed, horses and dogs remained the Queen's true passions and a way to connect with people from all walks of life.
