The Boys star Erin Moriarty has revealed she suffered a serious on-set injury during filming that left her temporarily unable to walk, while also opening up about her ongoing health struggles.

Moriarty, who plays Annie January, also known as Starlight in the Prime Video series, shared the update on her Instagram Stories following the release of Season 5, Episode 4 of the show.

She posted a photo of her leg wrapped in a bandage and described the episode as one of the most significant she has ever filmed.

“Season 5, episode 4 of The Boys is one of the most important episodes I’ve ever shot,” she wrote.

“Unfortunately, that part of the season coincided with my health issues peaking before my diagnosis.”

She explained that her condition worsened during filming, leading to mobility issues and repeated falls.

“The numbness in my feet led to a lot of falling. The night before we shot my segment of this episode, I fell and shredded up my knee,” she said.

Moriarty added that her symptoms eventually escalated to the point where she “started to lose the ability to walk,” describing a physically and emotionally difficult period during production.

The actress also addressed her frustration with autoimmune disease and public misunderstanding surrounding it, saying she wanted to speak out rather than remain silent.

“This isn’t a pity post,” she wrote. “It’s mostly to say: f*** autoimmune disease. F*** it so hard. F*** the ignorance surrounding it, too.”

Moriarty previously revealed in June 2025 that she had been diagnosed with Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid and can lead to hyperthyroidism.

At the time, she said she had been experiencing exhaustion and nausea, and later reflected that she might have sought treatment sooner if she hadn’t attributed her symptoms to stress.

According to medical experts, Graves’ disease causes the immune system to overstimulate the thyroid gland, resulting in excess hormone production that can impact energy levels, metabolism, and overall health.

Despite the challenges, Moriarty has continued working on the final season of The Boys, which remains one of Prime Video’s most popular series.
