Erin Moriarty, known for her role as Annie/Starlight on The Boys, has shared a raw account of the physical toll her battle with Graves' disease took during the production of the show's final season.

Taking to Instagram, Moriarty highlighted that the recently released fourth episode of Season 5, titled "Though the Heavens Fall," was filmed during the peak of her health crisis.

The actress revealed that before her official diagnosis in May 2025, she was struggling with severe neurological symptoms, including numbness in her feet that led to frequent falls.

Moriarty shared a photograph of her injured knee, explaining that she "shredded" it the night before filming a major segment of the episode.

"I started to lose the ability to walk," she wrote, describing the period as a time when her health issues were "peaking."

She expressed frustration with the general ignorance surrounding autoimmune disorders, stating, "Fuck autoimmune disease... and fuck the ignorance surrounding it, too."

The actress noted that she has very few behind-the-scenes photos from the season because her condition worsened so significantly during the shoot.

Since starting treatment nearly a year ago, Moriarty has reported a significant recovery. She initially mistook her symptoms—which can include tremors, weight loss, and heart irregularities—for simple "stress and fatigue."

In her latest update, she urged her followers to prioritise their health and seek medical advice if they feel "dim" or unwell.

"Within 24 hours of beginning treatment, I felt the light coming back on," she shared, reinforcing the importance of early detection.

The Boys is currently airing its fifth and final season weekly on Prime Video, with the series finale set for late May.
