TikTok star Becki Jones opens up about depression struggles, reveals suicidal thoughts
Becki Jones has spoken out about feeling like she 'didn't want to stay around anymore'
TikTok star Becki Jones has spoken out about feeling like she "didn't want to stay around anymore" before her widely reported exit from social media.
The 33-year-old online figure has shared insights into her mental health challenges and what ultimately pushed her to leave TikTok over a year ago in an all-new interview.
In a revealing conversation, the transformed Becki shared her complete social media departure story on the Not My Bagg podcast.
She explained that she chose to stop sharing videos after being overwhelmed by negative comments and made this choice during her visit to Rome, Italy.
Becki expressed: "At the airport, I had a severe panic attack, which I'd never experienced before – I've had anxiety issues, but never to this degree. I couldn't breathe during this panic attack.
"This happened as soon as we landed in Italy because I had made this video about my trip to Rome, and the thought of editing, posting it, and then facing the comments was daunting."
"The breaking point was when I couldn't handle daily tasks there; I was in a constant state of panic and shortness of breath.
"My mom thought I might need hospital treatment at one stage.
"The whole experience was deeply triggering. It felt like an accumulation of hostility.
"The pressure built up, and that moment was when it broke me. Seeing the cruel remarks about me and my family was too much."
Later, Becki disclosed her diagnosis with depression and anxiety, which led to some disturbing feelings.
She further shared: "I visited my doctor and received a diagnosis for anxiety and depression. That realisation hit hard, knowing I needed medication to feel better daily. It’s a tough experience.
"I just reached a point where I didn’t want to exist any longer; I didn’t have motivation for anything.
"If it weren't for some key people in my life, I doubt I would have pulled through.
"These interactions made me question my self-worth and contributed to my self-loathing."
During Becki’s absence from social media, she remarkably lost weight – a subject that continues to spark online discussion.
Becki has chosen to keep the details of her weight loss journey private.
She also found romance, with The Sun revealing her relationship with an ex-offender.
Becki began dating Chris Beattie during her social media hiatus, with The Sun reporting his guilty plea to possession of a controlled drug under section 5(2) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 on September 7, 2021, resulting in a 12-month conditional discharge.
