Eric Kripke, the creator and showrunner of the Prime Video series "The Boys", has voiced his exhaustion regarding the increasingly blurred lines between his satirical work and real-world politics.

Speaking to Polygon, Kripke reacted to a striking parallel involving Donald Trump and the character Homelander, portrayed by Antony Starr.

In a recent episode titled "Every One of You Sons of Bitches", Homelander declares himself a god. This plot point mirrored a Truth Social post by Trump featuring an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ.

"I am really tired and weary of the world reflecting the show before we get a chance to do it," Kripke stated during the interview.

He explained that writers initially feared that Homelander claiming divinity might be perceived by the public as too "out there" or unrealistic.

However, the creator noted that Trump released the divine imagery a mere forty-eight hours before the episode aired.

Kripke further observed that it has become "really hard to out-satire this world" when reality consistently anticipates his most absurd scripts.

Donald Trump subsequently deleted the controversial image following criticism from across the political spectrum, later claiming to the press: "I thought it was me as a doctor and had to do with Red Cross."

Kripke, who is currently overseeing the fifth and final season of the series, confirmed that the scripts were completed well before the 2024 presidential election.

He concluded by describing the synchronicity between the show’s upcoming seventh episode and current events as "really f*cking unsettling."
