Cameron Diaz is officially ending her decade-long hiatus from Hollywood, a move that has been met with significant excitement across the film industry.

The actress, who famously retired in 2014, is set to return in the upcoming film Outcome, directed by Jonah Hill.

Speaking to Extra, Hill praised the actress's enduring star power, stating, "Cameron is an actual angel that fell from heaven, and she is not only, like, an iconic classic movie star."

He noted that her presence during camera tests immediately signalled to the crew that they were making a "real deal" production.

Insiders revealed to Radar Online that Diaz’s extended break was never intended as a permanent rejection of the industry, but rather a necessary period to focus on her personal life.

"She needed to focus on family first, but it also gave her a chance to step away from the constant grind," a source explained.

Following the birth of her daughter, Raddix, Diaz fully dedicated herself to motherhood and her marriage to Benji Madden, which sources say improved their relationship and gave her a fresh perspective on life outside of acting.

During her time away, Diaz successfully branched out into other creative and business ventures, including the founding of her wine brand, Avaline, and authoring health-focused titles like The Body Book.

In addition to her role in Outcome, fans can look forward to her reprising the beloved role of Princess Fiona in the upcoming Shrek 5.

Diaz reportedly feels "privileged" to return to work on her own terms, ensuring that acting remains a part of her life without completely defining her identity.
