Heidi Klum shares heartwarming reason son Henry joins her at public events
The model explains she enjoys sharing events with her 20-year-old son
Supermodel and television personality Heidi Klum has shared a heartfelt glimpse into her close bond with her son, Henry Samuel, revealing why she has recently begun bringing him along as her red-carpet date.
Speaking to People, the 52-year-old explained that her decision was partly practical, noting that her husband, Tom Kaulitz, has been frequently traveling, leaving her without a companion for certain public appearances. In response, her son Henry, now 20, has happily stepped into the role.
“To be honest, because my husband has been traveling so much and I didn't want to go alone. So, Henry has been like, ‘I’ll come with you, mom,’” Klum said, adding that she embraced the idea immediately. “What better date can you have than your own son?”
Klum, who shares Henry with her former husband, singer Seal, said she enjoys seeing events through her son’s perspective, describing how red-carpet experiences feel especially exciting when shared with someone younger.
She explained that Henry brings a fresh sense of curiosity to high-profile events, often experiencing major industry moments for the first time.
Klum said his enthusiasm makes the occasions more enjoyable for both of them, as he appreciates the opportunity to accompany her.
The Project Runway host also reflected on the emotional side of their outings, saying she feels proud that her son is happy to stand by her side publicly.
She described their evenings together as lighthearted and fun, often filled with conversation, people-watching, and shared moments behind the scenes.
Klum is a mother of four children, Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou.
Her eldest daughter, Leni, was born in 2004 and later adopted by Seal after he married Klum in 2005.
