John Travolta trains on Global Express jet months after major aviation milestone
The actor shares simulator footage as he trains to fly a luxury private jet
John Travolta is once again taking to the skies, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at his latest aviation milestone just months after earning a new pilot certification.
The 72-year-old actor shared a video on Instagram on May 5, documenting his training to fly the Bombardier Global Express, an ultra-long-range private jet designed for luxury travel.
In the clip, Travolta is seen inside a high-tech simulator classroom, surrounded by screens replicating the aircraft’s cockpit systems.
Walking viewers through the setup, he pointed out how pilots train using real-time visual simulations, including a detailed approach into John F. Kennedy International Airport.
“This is the Global Express simulator on final approach for JFK,” he explained, highlighting the immersive training environment used to prepare pilots for real-world flying conditions.
Travolta also expressed his enthusiasm for the aircraft, describing it as a “great plane” while confirming he had completed the required simulator training.
The update comes just two months after the Oscar-winning star revealed he had obtained his license to operate the jet.
A longtime aviation enthusiast, Travolta has been a licensed pilot since the age of 22 and holds certifications to fly multiple aircraft, including commercial-sized jets such as the Boeing 747 and Gulfstream models.
Over the years, he has frequently shared his passion for flying, which has become a defining part of his life beyond Hollywood.
The actor’s deep connection to aviation has also extended into his personal life. His late wife, Kelly Preston, previously spoke about their travels together, noting his calm demeanor and extensive experience in the cockpit.
