Romeo Beckham makes solo Met Gala debut as David Beckham shows public support

Romeo Beckham made a striking solo debut at the Met Gala 2026 in New York, stepping onto fashion’s biggest stage without his parents or siblings in attendance, an appearance that quickly drew attention amid ongoing family tensions surrounding the Beckham household.

The 23-year-old son of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham arrived at the event in a tailored Burberry leather suit, marking his first-ever Met Gala appearance. 

Before stepping onto the red carpet, Romeo described the moment as a personal milestone, saying he planned to take in every detail of the experience.

“My first Met is a special moment for me, so I’ll be taking it all in and appreciating every detail,” he said ahead of the event.

However, the night drew additional attention due to the absence of his elder brother, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife Nicola Peltz, both of whom have attended previous Met Gala events. 

Their decision not to appear this year sparked online speculation, with some suggesting it may have been intended to shift focus toward Romeo’s debut.

Amid the discussion, David Beckham publicly showed support for his son on Instagram, reposting Burberry’s image of Romeo’s look and praising the outfit. 

“I love this look sooo much,” he wrote, also sharing a playful throwback image referencing his own past leather fashion moments with Victoria.

The public display of support comes against the backdrop of ongoing reports of tension within the Beckham family. 

Over the past year, Brooklyn has been notably absent from several family events, including milestone celebrations, fueling speculation about a rift.
